Partners United for People and Pets

Mission

The mission of Partners United for People and Pets (PUPP) is to promote the general health and well-being of underserved individuals through the provision of pet care assistance.

Who Does PUPP Help?

Our ultimate goal is to advance wellness by maintaining and strengthening the bonds between these individuals and their animal companions.  PUPP plans to help elderly, disabled, homeless, low-income and other individuals who face barriers that prevent them from providing adequate care for their pets.  In PUPP's first year of operation, it will focus its efforts on the elderly and disabled; after adequate funding and resources, PUPP will then begin providing services to low-income, homeless and other individuals in need.

Why Is PUPP's Work So Important?

ANIMAL COMPANIONSHIP IMPROVES OUR HEALTH AND WELL-BEING!

PUPP helps people live longer and healthier lives by helping their pets.   Research indicates that having a pet for a companion improves mental and physical health.  Animal companionship can result in the following:

  •     decreased feelings of loneliness and depression
  •     decreased blood pressure
  •     relief of stress
  •     increased socialization and decreased agitation among individuals suffering from Alzheimer's Disease

PUPP's services will also result in the following:

  •     improvement in the quality of life for the animal companions
  •     decrease in the number of animals relinquished to local shelters, which ultimately leads to a decrease in the euthanasia rate

PUPP doesn't just improve lives; it saves lives!
